CONFLICT RESOLUTION ROLEPLAY
CMI works in many parts of the world to support opposing sides in settling their differences peaceably. One of our most important tasks at CMI is to support dialogue – that is, constructive back-and-forth discussion between disagreeing sides. This helps the participants in a dialogue to start trusting each other. Once this is underway, it’s much easier to work at finding solutions that all sides can accept.
These role playing exercises give students a chance to get involved in a realistic situation where patience, understanding and constructive critical thinking are needed to solve an argument.
In the video below, students at Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu in Helsinki carry out this exercise under the direction of CMI’s Advisor Denis Matveev. In the video Denis tells more about the exercise and its goals.
